Women's Cardiac Health Awareness


Overview and Mission

The Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series, led by the Program Directors, Dr. Roxana Mehran, Dr. Andrea Russo, and Dr. HelenMari Merritt-Genore, is dedicated to providing educational programming focused on evidence-based strategies to improve the quality of cardiac treatment in women, through an interactive virtual forum. Featuring leading thought leaders at the forefront of cardiac care, the Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series disseminates educational programming that can be directly applied to real-world practice.

The Mission of the Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series is to serve as a leading resource that delivers high quality education, increases awareness, and advocates for the advancement of strategies and approaches amongst the global multidisciplinary cardiac care team of healthcare professions who are dedicated to the management of cardia care in women.

Inaugural Series: Women and Atrial Fibrillation

The Inaugural CME Series, focused on Women and Atrial Fibrillation, will be comprised of 4 individual Live Online Sessions that feature didactic lectures and case reviews which are complemented with moderated panel discussions and Q&A sessions, that enable attendees to directly engage with faculty.

Target Audience

The Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series has been designed to meet the educational needs of the coalition of multidisciplinary healthcare team professionals, including electrophysiologists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and other physicians and associated professionals with a clinical interest in the pathophysiology and management of cardiac disease.

Educational Format

Live Online Sessions that feature didactic lectures and case reviews which are complemented with moderated panel discussions and Q&A sessions, that enable attendees to directly engage with faculty.

Live Session Broadcasts

Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series Live Session Broadcasts within a Series are CME accredited and provide an interactive forum to directly engage with faculty. Dates, times, agenda, and registration for each live session is made available directly on the website’s homepage and within the Series Calendar page.

Attendee Engagement

Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series programming encourages attendees to actively engage with faculty throughout the duration of each Session by submitting online questions which are addressed during the live discussion.

Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series ON-DEMAND Library

Women's Cardiac Health Awareness Series ON-DEMAND provides instant and unlimited access to the library of Series archives. (The ON-DEMAND Library is non-CME accredited). Archived Sessions will be available within the ON-DEMAND Library Section of the website.

Women and Atrial Fibrillation Series CME Accreditation

Physicians: Ciné-Med designates this Series, consisting of 4 Sessions, for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the Series.

Nurses: Ciné-Med provides a total of 6 Contact Hours for Nurses for this Series.

Individual Session CME Accreditation

Physicians: Ciné-Med designates each Session within this Series for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: Ciné-Med provides 1.5 Contact Hours for Nurses per Session within this Series.

CME Certificate Fulfillment

1 CME Certificate is supplied electronically for the cumulative CME Credits earned commensurate with the extent of participation with the Series (6 total CMEs available).

Series Participation & Obtaining CME Certificates

  1. Register for the Sessions that you plan to attend, and upon successful registration, an email confirmation will be issued that includes the direct link to the Live Session Broadcasts for which you registered.  
  2. Participate in all or a portion of the scheduled Sessions within a Series.
  3. Claim your CME Credits at the conclusion of the final Session within a Series, upon completion of the post-activity evaluation form and verification of attendance. 1 CME Certificate is supplied electronically for the cumulative CME Credits earned commensurate with the extent of participation with the Series.
